A Backyard and a Vision
Prince Armory started as a one-person operation with a simple premise: fantasy armor should be as functional as it is beautiful. Working out of a small backyard shop, the studio began taking custom commissions for collectors, cosplayers, and performers who wanted something no costume shop could deliver.
From Studio to Spotlight
Word spread. The studio’s one-of-a-kind creations caught the attention of clients across film, theater, music, and entertainment. Commissions came in from Samsung, Madonna, Manowar, Six Flags, Saturday Night Live, and Cinderella on Broadway. Every piece was designed from the ground up, sculpted and built by hand. No templates. No shortcuts.
Superhero Armor Goes Global
The studio’s fantasy superhero armor series became a phenomenon, reaching tens of millions of viewers across social media. Leather reimaginations of iconic heroes introduced Prince Armory to a massive new audience. The waitlist for custom commissions stretched past three years, with price tags that reflected the caliber of work.
The Academy Opens
The knowledge gained from two decades of full-time professional armor crafting was too valuable to keep behind a waitlist. The Prince Armory Academy was born to put that knowledge directly into the hands of makers around the world. Not as a passive video library, but as a structured apprenticeship built around progressive builds that teach real skills at every stage.
A Global Community of Makers
What started as patterns and tutorials has grown into a full ecosystem: five themed armor collections that function as a structured curriculum, a thriving Guild community, a loyalty program, a Discord server buzzing with student builds, and new content always in development. The Academy continues to expand into new mediums and techniques, from laser cutting to 3D printing to advanced leather sculpture.
More Than Patterns
Every armor collection in the Academy is a chapter in a larger curriculum. The bundles aren’t just grouped for convenience. They were designed from the start as a true path of learning.
Each themed collection teaches a different tier of crafting skill. Start with the Warrior series for foundational techniques and affordable tools, progress through Fantasy Armor for intermediate skills, and push into Imperial Knight for laser cutting and advanced detail work. The Berserker and Elven Lord series challenge experienced crafters with advanced construction and design.
Every pattern includes detailed video guides that go well beyond assembly instructions. Each tutorial is packed with additional tips, techniques, and skills that expand your knowledge as a crafter. You’re not just building armor. You’re building the ability to design and create your own original work.
All patterns are delivered as scalable PDFs. Print at 100% for a standard fit, or adjust the percentage for any body type. Male and female variants are included where applicable. A paper mockup step is built into the process so you dial in fit before cutting leather.
The Academy’s content library grows with every release. Beyond leather armor, the roadmap includes foam, steel, resin, 3D printing, fabric work, business lessons, and specialized advanced courses. The goal is a complete education in the craft, from your very first project to running your own business.
